In Texas if don't make your first parole how long before you go before the parole board again?

I call the parole hotline in Texas today to check on my BF/BD parole answer and the women told me that he was denied and that his next review will be in may 2010. I was told by someone that you come back up in the next 6 to 9 months. Can someone help me with a answer please. I need to know what to tell his family?
