Will the new Airport X-ray machines that can see through clothing be safe for camera film, audio/video tape...?

and pacemakers etc? What will the procedure be for dealing with travelers who wear lead lined underwear? Are they going to allow religious exemptions from nudie x-rays and how long till they start turning up on You Tube?..
